Special religious education and special education in ethics

Parents/caregivers have the right to have their children receive instruction in their preferred religious persuasion or ethics, where authorised volunteers of that persuasion are available. Students whose parents have not indicated their preference or have elected not to attend special religious education (SRE) or special education in ethics (SEE) instruction will be supervised during this time by Epping North Public School teachers in non-religious and non-curriculum based activities.

Below is the list of approved SRE/SEE program options and their providers at Epping North Public School.

  • Option 1: Kindergarten to Year 6 Catholic SRE is Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay
  • Option 2: Kindergarten to Year 6 Protestant SRE is Anglican Diocese of Sydney
  • Option 3: Kindergarten to Year 6 ethics is primary ethics

Students continue in the same arrangement each year which was selected by parent/caregivers upon enrolment unless a request has been changed in writing. At any time, you have the right to change your SRE/SEE nomination or to withdraw your child from the nominated programs. A note to the office will affect this change.

SRE/SEE is held on Thursday mornings:

  • Kindergarten to Year 2 is held from 9:10am until 9:40am
  • Year 3 to 6 is held from 9:40am until 10:10am.
